Fantastic Bones and Where to Find Them

Welcome to an exciting new blog series that I’m doing called Fantastic Bones and Where to Find Them! I’ll be looking at mythological creatures and trying to work out their skeletal anatomy. This all was born of a lunchtime conversation in the archaeology lab about hippogriffs, which, as a six-limbed, flying quadruped, must have an intriguing skeleton! That got me thinking about centaurs, mermaids, nifflers… I can’t wait to get started!

In the series so far: Hippogriff, Niffler

Do you have any mythical creatures you want to dissect? Leave a comment below!
